there is a wait so long

here comes your band. it has been some kind of summer for so so radio. thank you all for the memories, there’s so much to mention and it was all a blur that now i hardly remember any interesting details. but who needs them.

we will be returning to the stage in the pretty near future and that’s exciting, isn’t it? then, hopefully before 2011 dissolves, we’ll be making a new record.

anyways, apologies for not keeping up on us. we hope you had a super duper summer and first four days of fall. now, please come and see us play our songs in Minneapolis on 10/14 as we kick off our fall run of awesomeness. stop on our sweet Facebook and say hi. recommend our debut lp to a friend (i know you’ve already got it, hey we have hard copies, too). have yourselves a terrific columbus day, etc.

although it’s late notice, we’ll be at Mariopalooza at the velvet lips lounge in our adopted homebase, Fort Atkinson, WI, tomorrow night (Sat. 7/16) at 9 pm. sadly, we’ll be missing our nick (usual bass player, who does a first-rate rendition of happy birthday), but an old friend has agreed to help us out for the night (thanks patrick!) we’ll be playing a couple new songs, a couple of very old songs, and some songs from our one and only album, dustcovers.  not only would it mean the world to us to see each and every one of you and your friends and lovers, it would also mean alot to Mario. it’s his birthday, and who doesn’t like birthdays? and in the spirit of birthdays, you know none of us are getting any younger. so come rock and roll with us before our knees go or, you know, we otherwise fall apart.

west then east; a free download or two

i just wanted to provide a brief mid-week update in the middle of our midwest tour.

a few highlights so far:

- thank you so much to daniel and the lion, valentiger, and our man joe for making it work at project lodge in madison. don’t fret, i’ll get that jazzmaster bent into shape soon enough.

- ames iowa might take the cake for hospitality and good vibes. i’m floored by the vibrance found in a city smaller than my lifeless hometown. our brand new best friends in ames, Nuclear Rodeo, are a ripping ripping rock band and easily the most insanely great hosts on either side of the Missouri. to our friends who tour, check out ames progressive if you get a chance

- dirty horse is such a great band, and it was a pleasure to play with them in Minneapolis. we’ll do it again. and, speaking of minneapolis, thank you pizza luce for the warm meal, and thank you adam for the home warmth. are people really this great, one finds oneself asking from time to time… so so radio agrees, yes, they are.

- our guy andy is the best. he photographed, he sold, he refreshed, and we all enjoyed his company. somebody give andy a hug.

- free supersecret download of our radio milwaukee acoustic stuff from last december on our bandcamp. enjoy!

- celebrating my wife’s birthday tonight w/ chinese food, then wrap up the week with the tour wrap-up: thursday in indianapolis, friday in toledo, saturday in chicago, sunday in Milwaukee.  PLEASE, COME SEE US AND TELL A FRIEND!

you are our sunshines,

so so radio.

Friends In The Band: "Glossy Lo-Fi" with So So Radio

friendsintheband:

the fine lads of Milwaukee band So So Radio answered some questions about their sound, their favorite records and the state of music promotion.

Catch them this Friday at the Ames Progressive with Nuclear Rodeo and the Seed of Something. 8pm - $5 for a full night of glossy lo-fi and some indie…

Triumphant Returns

There will be Plants & Animals at the High Noon Saloon next Monday, February 28. We’ll be opening this very wonderful rock and pop showcase so please come on out early, clap often, and stay for the post-show mingle. Also appearing are the pretty great band Surgeons in Heat, from Madison AND Milwaukee. How about that? Tickets are $8 if you get them in advance, $10 at the door. Why wouldn’t you get them in advance? THIS IS AN 18+ show - so all you young ladies that go gaga for our bass player, Nick… open season.

Two other things:

1. It’s hard not to notice that lots of people visit our bandcamp site, but no one buys the new record. So, from now until next Monday, you can have a free download of the record. just go there, download it, and most importantly TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT IT, and come to next monday’s High Noon Saloon Show.

2. We’re embarking on our first ever worldwide tour of the Great Lakes States in March, and that’s thrilling to us. Please see our Upcoming Performances Page for details. If you should happen to have a friend, family member or other acquaintance in any of these fine cities who might let us sleep on their floor, could you put us in touch?

all of our alwayses for all of you,

so so radio
